08:52 AM ET 11.05 | New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton admitted that his team blew the whistle on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday for leaving quarterback Josh Freeman off their injury report with an apparently-minor thumb injury. Payton also admitted that "a little gamesmanship" was probably involved. "Listen, I think when your quarterback's on NFL Network with a splint on his thumb, normally he's on the injury report," said Payton, who later joked, "At least take the splint off before you go on NFL Network, right?" The Saints informed the NFL that Freeman should have appeared on the injury report since he was clearly dealing with an injury, albeit minor. And the NFL then told the Buccaneers to make the adjustment.

I'm still mad these guys dropped so many points on my Colts. Maybe not so angry at the Saints, but angry that Indy had no idea how to stop them.

You don't want to say someone dropped a dime bag too loud....

Nice!

After the way his QB got pushed around last week, he might better spend his time dropping some blocking schemes or plays or a OL or two.
I think Brees has been sacked 19 times so far this year. Most ever per game in his time in NO.

Is this Sean Peyton's biggest problem... a splint on a QB's thumb. Dude, look at last weeks game film

November 5, 2011  09:58 AM ET

Anything to get into an opponent's head, huh Sean?

Seems like a petty and insignificant gesture, what's the point?

Absolutely agree. This is Mangina territory.

Better save that gamesmanship for the next time you play the freaking Rams coach....

The list sent in to the League is a joke. Because some coaches were hiding injuries ( BB you sneaky bassttard, you ), the Vegas bookies were getting burned on the betting lines and the NFL responded.
Sooo, now if a guy has a head cold on Wednesday, you have to list him as an illness-questionable/probable and on and on. but of course all you have to say about anybody is " game time decision."

November 5, 2011  11:09 AM ET

Once again Fifty hit it on the head. Only one reason for an injury report. Vegas Baby. They put the fear of the injury report into Jerry Jones years ago. Don't mess around with those guys or you'll wake up with your QB's head in your bed.
