08:53 AM ET 11.06 | As teams prepare their list of potential free agents in 2012, there's a fairly big name that some currently are putting in the "maybe" category. Per a league source, several teams believe that the Titans could release running back Chris Johnson before the fifth day of the 2012 league year, at which time his base salary of $8 million becomes fully guaranteed.

He is playing like S^$T but that might be a little premature.

It does look that way!

Wow! And to think of how well he performed just a couple short years ago.

Seems a bit steep to me too but, then again, so does $8-million a year for no production. If Ten does release him, he'll be really motivated for whoever picks him up and then watch out. Suddenly you're watching the real Chris Johnson putting it to the Titans.

Wow!!!

Hell, I'd do nothing like CJ2K, for half of what they are paying him!

Hard to get it back once that edge in you is gone. Short term? sure, Long term? not so much.

It's taking him a little longer to get in game shape than most players that were locked out.

Which is unusual for a guy who wanted to get paid so badly, but wouldn't work out with his teammates.

A somewhat relevant topic on a Sunday morning.

The interns are putting in more effort that CJ2K has, and for a fraction of the cost.
