Cowboys only have backup plan without Austin

08:01 AM ET 11.09 | With Miles Austin out at least a few weeks, the Cowboys could use some depth at receiver. However one day after coach Jason Garrett said the team might look at available free-agent receivers, owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show on KRLD-FM that the team will only consider in-house options. The Cowboys have four receivers on the practice squad including Dwayne Harris, Andre Holmes, Kwasi Owusu-Ansah and Teddy Williams. Jones said the Cowboys will not sign a veteran wide out, pointing to Harris, the team's sixth-round pick, as the most likely answer to fill the void. "We've got [Dwayne] Harris on the practice squad," Jones said "That'll be where we limit it to. It won't be away from the roster."

I'd go with Teddy Williams. Maybe he'll be a home run for Jerry!

In-house options? If you're willing to consider outhouse options, there's TO.

None of those names strike fear in any Defensive Back in the NFL.

Exactly... as was DeMarco.
Might as well see what we have here... so we know what we need next season.
Kind of like the Redskins are doing with the guys they brought up (who I didn't recognize a single name of).
I didn't recognize a single name of the guys they cut.

Give TO a call JJ, I think he can be reached at a courthouse in Georgia. His kids sure could use the money.

That's the problem with the Cowboys. Jerry the General Manager has to go. He has made numerous mistakes from the poor drafting, stupid contracts and roster moves (releasing Pro Bowlers and not even getting a 7th round pick back in return???), lack of signing dependable free agents, hiring overrated coaches, etc. The Cowboys are no longer America's team. They are America's biggest joke. I am a huge Cowboys fan but I'm also a realistic. In order for the team to reach the promise land again this is what has to happen:
1. Fire the General Manager
2. Fire the Head Coach - Garrett is horrible
3. Fire the Offensive Coordinator - Garrett's play calling is for a field goal at best
4. Sign a quality backup to push Romo. He has no fear of being replaced.....by who????
5. Tell the owner to concentrate on the "business" side of things and not the personnel and quit trying to coach
6. Sign Rob Ryan long term
7. Cut/trade the following players.....B. James, T. Newman, K. Brookings & M. Holland (just for starters)

Pretty certain Stephen and Red Ball are keeping Jerry's finger away from that particular speed dial button.

Damn dude... did you think we were going to the Super Bowl this season?
Patience... this mess didn't happen overnight and won't be fixed this season. It was never about this year in spite of what noise is emitted from the Pepsi Compound.

Got to disagree on a couple points Stokey. Rob Ryan isn't smart enough to coach Pop Warner and if we're cutting people lets start with Marty B.

Aw, it was a comment about outhouses. Is it my fault TO was hiding behind the half-moon, stinking up the place?

The cowboys are in a good place tight now. The schedule says so and it will come down to division games to decide which team ( only one will go ) from the NFC East makes the playoffs.
