08:19 AM ET 11.10 | Arte Moreno has granted Jerry Dipoto complete power in Anaheim, and now it's a matter of how he wields it. [Dipoto] says not to count out the franchise as a player in the free-agent sweepstakes for Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols. "Don't assume that we have no interest in Fielder or Pujols," Dipoto said in an interview with ESPN.com. ... "We don't want to lock the door. We are a high-revenue team and I'm a big believer in acquiring impact players. However, they are not our greatest need and are not priority number one on our list." Dipoto, who took over the job on Oct. 29 after replacing Tony Reagins, said the team's top offseason priority is strengthening the bullpen, especially in terms of right-handed arms.

seeing one (or both) of them go to an AL team wouldn't be a big surprise.

AP as a DH? what a weapon for a team to have...play him at 1st or let him DH, either way that bat stays in the lineup.

Angels interest does not always, seldom, translate to a signing.

Yes thats it!! I wish Vernon Wells cost the same as a can of Spam but he is the 2nd highest paid player behind ARoid. The reason Reagins was thrown under the bus.

Angels have money coming off the books so they can go after someone

If they are not your #1 target, you wont get them. Plain and simple. (lesson #1 for the New GM) Plus Moreno already said that their playroll will not increase next year. To afford them you would have to dump Morales, Kendrick, Izturis, and Mathis at least. (lesson #2) Soc will not let you get rid of Mathis (lesson #3) Angles claim to be interested but wont open the checkbook just to give the fans a flase hope. (lesson #4) Soc is King, Soc is King, Soc is King (lesson #5)
