08:55 AM ET 11.13 | It got more than somewhat lost the other day, in the aftermath of Joe Paterno and the Penn State president being fired, the school's version of a Midnight Massacre out of another coverup called Watergate. But a very smart New York defense and civil rights lawyer named Tom Harvey was in the Daily News talking about how he believed the federal government would eventually need to sort things out at Penn State. Not a special committee of Penn State people investigating Penn State, not the office of the attorney general in Pennsylvania, not even a governor of Pennsylvania who actually was the state's attorney general at the start of the Penn State investigation. The feds, Harvey said on the lead page of our sports section on Thursday.

The criminal indifference / institutional part of this tragedy always had to be the Feds. The governor of PA is on the PSU Board of Trustees.

What a year in CFB this has been, and the year has not got to the end yet either.

After yesterday, the greatest mystery of the year still remains how did Texas Tech beat the Sooners.

Correct. PSU and the local authorities are already on record with their "past" investigations. They found nothing wrong. Because students there receive federal funding, stafford loans, ( I believe Grove City College in Pa. is the only school in the country that does not ), they fall under Federal guidelines.
PSU and anybody local had their chance. No mulligans.

QUOTE(#5):

Told you the Ducks would win big, and with smurf going down too. And no way the Ducks should ever pass Bama. Bama played LSU to a draw in regulation and the Ducks were not even close, so they should not, not, not pass Bama.

Okie Lite has Iowa State and Zero U still left...and Cougar High could very well lose in the next three weeks (SMU, @Tulsa and C-USA game if they win the west)

That Zero U loss to TT is looking more and more pathetic.

QUOTE(#6):

Sorry for your loss, and you too OT. So, are the horns going to be able to make a bowl this year? Hope so. The Ducks will, they should get a BCS bowl, just not the the CG.

If the rusty cows can't score more than 5 points on Mizzou they don't deserve to go to a bowl IMHO.

QUOTE(#8):

The horns should end up with maybe 7 wins, they should win one of the last three. That is an improvement over last year, then improve again next year, then all will be fine.

They have to score to win. Their defense has improved but it isn't good enough to pitch shutouts.

Need to beat the Eagles next week and then they can see about redeeming the season against Stanford.
