Neuheisel running out of chances

09:06 AM ET 11.13 | The facts are as cold as the night here. Rick Neuheisel has been unable to make the case he has what it takes to rally support for the UCLA football program and buy himself more time as coach. But what a belly flop, a 31-6 spanking coming from a second-rate opponent, and a reminder that nothing really has changed with UCLA football since Neuheisel's arrival. Like so many other disappointing conference Saturdays the last four years, this one fell flat of soaring expectations. And not many more UCLA Saturdays are going to be available to Neuheisel.

You know he's gone soon - no. 83 has deserted him.!

Beat U$C and you save your job.

It's a shame USC can't represent the 12 PAC south. ASU lost to Wazzou last night but they are still tied with UCLA and Utah is just one game behind I believe....and Colorado beat Zona for the battle to the bottom.

DC, it's a joke to even think that UCLA, ASU or Utah could play in the 12 PAC CG.

Nothing will save his job. He is lucky he lasted this long. UCLA fans can now get excited for the Hoops season.

One of the three will...and what could be a bigger joke is if they happen to beat the Ducks!

He and Mark Richt have been doing it for years. It's some kind of tactic to scare their wives out of running up the credit cards.

Damn good idea. All coaches could benefit to be included in that group with Tricky Ricky and Richt.

When I was put there for the UTx game, I talked with someone who seemed to be close to the situation. Played there in the 60s and seemed knowledgable. He told me what they were looking for for was prob 7 wins, with 2 key victories.

If true, a win over USC will do it after the win that was supposedly big over ASU.

The other things that save him is that it is a basketball school and they are cheap.

It's possible that they can beat USC.
