Roger Clemens has received the benefit of the doubt from at least one group. The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association said Monday that Clemens was still welcome at its convention, which runs Jan. 10-12. "We took a wait-and-see approach," Jim Long, the group's president, said in a telephone interview. "He adamantly wants to come, and we really don't have any reason not to have him." Clemens is scheduled to address a group of about 1,000 coaches on how his rigorous workout routines can be helpful for high school players.

I would still keep plans as they were. If he is found to have lied and still attended this thing that would be bad, and he would have alot of nerve.

No reason to cancel his appearance at this point. The one thing funny about this is that it appears for the most part that the Mitchell report was farily accurate. I say that becuase of the couple of players who came out and admitted to using enhancers after the report was published. It seems kind of far-fetched that he would be right on for some/most, but so wrong about clemens. . . . .

I really don't care if he attends this shindig or not, I just find it hillarious that the reason he is speaking in on his "workout routine".

Look at him...he's a meatball with legs!

Did roger got swindled or something and don't have enough money for 'roids? Why won't this guy just retire like other good pitchers do?

January 2, 2008  09:29 AM ET

nothing will come of the 60 minutes interview. He is being interviewed by a Yankee fan. He will have all questions ahead of time and he and his lawyer will have all the perfect answers ready.

This was worth a second leg

January 2, 2008  09:37 AM ET

so, truth, if I acknowledge your witty comment this time, will you promise not to try it a third time? :D

January 2, 2008  09:38 AM ET

I know the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing applies here, but you're talking about Clemens talking to a bunch of high school ball players about his work out regime.

But don't you think in this case maybe it would be better to wait?

January 2, 2008  10:08 AM ET

it will be back shortly. not to fear :D

January 2, 2008  10:11 AM ET

It will get interesting!!

January 2, 2008  10:16 AM ET

Until he is proven without a doubt.. move on with life.

January 2, 2008  10:36 AM ET

Maybe he'll bring Giambi with him so they can show the children how to properly inject themselves with steroids. Bonds could show up and they could all compare head size.

January 2, 2008  10:59 AM ET

His speech will not have the same impact as it would have had before the allegations. Maybe he will tell the kids to not use performing enhancing drugs...............until they reach age 40.
