Rutgers tailback competition

With Rutgers' tailback situation for next season in limbo until Ray Rice decides whether he is returning for his senior year, it seems only fitting that the solution could be a player who shares that in-between status. True freshman Jourdan Brooks, taking this year as a redshirt, doesn't have the game experience of backups Kordell Young or Mason Robinson. And he can't match the hype that incoming freshmen backs Rashid White or Onterrio McCalebb will arrive with. But he may be the answer if Rice leaves for the NFL a year early. Even if Rice stays, Brooks will warrant carries. He has been that impressive in practice all season.

Ray, go play on Sundays. Your family needs the cash. Thanks for a ton of thrills, you helped rebuild Rutgers from the ashes. There is nothing left for you to prove at this level. Forget about the Heisman, the voters are stacked in favor of the Florida Golden Boy who didn't do squat in the Citrus Bowl.

rice will be a great running back in the nfl, and after 2 seasons of 1700+ yards, i think he should go pro
