Why Reid's time is up in Philly

08:02 AM ET 11.14 | Again Sunday, Andy Reid called for anyone listening to place a measure of blame on his shoulders. [The] issue stops being whether Andy Reid should return for a 14th season as head coach. He should not. After blowing a fourth-quarter lead for the fifth time, after falling to 3-6 with a roster full of expensive stars, after letting John Flipping Skelton outplay Michael Vick -- after all that, the issue has become whether Reid can give owner Jeff Lurie even the flimsiest pretense for defying reason and bringing him back for 2012. ... [Reid] now has a team that plays soft and that seems more interested in contracts than contact. His ship appears rudderless, and there's no one to blame but the captain.

I said it at the beginning of the year, Iggles went with the old Redskin Formula....

Can't buy a championship.

I'll just sit back and watch this train wreck and enjoy the moment.

Pretty damn funny that the Iggles moment of glory this season will be trouncing the Cowboys.

Sucks being beaten by the future HOF'er John Skelton, doesn't it?

Eagles --the Best team for 45 minutes money can buy

Never would have predicted that the weak point on the Eagles would turn out to be their pass defense.

damn you guys got some issues.

November 14, 2011  08:37 AM ET

I don't fault the Eagles for spending money to fill glaring holes. Last year they were poor at rushing QB and were poor in secondary. So no issue with bringing in DRC, Nnamdi, Cullen Jenkings, and Jason Babin.

I have no problem signing Ronnie Brown for depth at running back.

My problem is completely overhauling coaching staff in a season that had no offseason. Andy Reid chose to hand over D-Coordinator to an O-Line coach. Andy Reid chose to bring in Howard Mudd, who runs a completely different style than the Eagles existing linemen provide. My problem is Andy Reid bring in Jim Washburn to run a Wide 9, that is predicated on having run stuff Linebackers and then not bringing in run stuffing LB's. My problem is with Andy Reid and Joe Banner not trying to resign Desean Jackson, knowing the guy will be a malcontent. My problem is not trading Asante Samuel, when they acquired DRC and Nnamdi, then choosing to make Asante "happy" by playing him in his usual spot and playing DRC and Nnamdi in positions they are not used to.

The list can go on and on. Its clear that the program's structure is collapsing. It will only get worse. Andy will have to move on. Andy Reid will never win a Superbowl because he has ZERO ability to adapt to in game situations. A coach like that will never win the big games.

How's the new Redskin formula working?

November 14, 2011  08:46 AM ET

There is just something about old coaches who never take a step back from the game that turns them into helpless burnouts. At one time Reid was winning more with less. Now he's on the way out the door and he will never understand why. Tom Landry suffered from it too. But he did have his rings. It's kind of embarrassing being the only team in the NFC East without rings.

That's one way of looking at it, Steve.

From another perspective...

BWAHHAAHHHAAAHHHAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

If Reid were on the hot seat already, I think losing at home to Arizona made it much much worse.

November 14, 2011  09:03 AM ET

Hey Andy, how about a move to Cleveland? Our expectations are always low and don't worry about the fans getting on you after games because they are usually gone by the half!

Look at the bright side, Andy. Your rivals for the NFC East Basement also lost. And to an even worse team.
