08:09 AM ET 11.14 | This round didn't involve Dwyane Wade face-to-face with David Stern. Instead, Sunday night it was the Miami Heat guard going against the NBA commissioner on Twitter. With the NBA inviting questions to its Twitter account in advance of a Monday meeting of team representatives to consider the league's lockout latest offer, Wade got himself to the front of the line among the league's 3 million followers for the 80-minute session. "Why," Wade asked in Twitter form, "are all your 'system solutions' only impacting the PLAYERS?? What have the owners giving up of significance??" Moments later in the 140-characters-or-less forum, the league responded, "The economics & system favored the players in prior CBA -- Teams lost over 300m last year."

The owners lost money last season due to a system of rent. When you once owned your arena that seated far less than the current areans that are now called Comcast, Fedex, American Airlines, Staples, T.D. Banks, Delta, and you play basketball in markets where the economy have taken a serious hit (Charlotte, Cleveland, Portland, Pheonix), you tend to notice/feel the sting. NBA Teams now days have to pay rent to use those buildings and this is where the "take back from the players" are coming from. The owners aren't giving anything to the players, they are making the player feel as if they are lucky to play basketball and earn a living playing basketball, and rightfully so, but it is also the owners who have to take a look at what they have done to the league through their greed and realize that the current system will sink the league.

Agree. Players are so out of touch with reality, he thinks he's being 'cute' by speaking.He doesn't understands that it offends us fans who just want a deal one way or another.Lbj is making him stupid

While I agree that this is a very ignorant thing to do I find it one sided that you only went after Wade. The NBA opened this discussion up on Twitter and players asked questions so why no "stupid" for the NBA. Reality is yes as a fan I want a deal Heck I just want to watch Basketball but at your job you would want them to give something for all the concessions you make. With that said I do think the player better take what they got cause its not going to get much better and see how it is in 6 years.

Looks like there will be no season. It looks like the players are really taking it too personal and it's clouting their mind. Just cancel the season Stern and let these immature players waste their years.

It is personal when its about money. Have you ever been in a contract dispute with your job...I have bro and everyone from the Management to the employees took it personal cause its your lively hood. No matter if you make millions or thousands.

==============================================================

OK.....so the league claims that "teams lost over $300m last year"......are the fans & players JUST suppose to take their word for it.....or will the teams EVER open their books to prove it?

I'm not taking sides.....but since the league owners are making this claim as the foundation of their position, let's see them come clean......
