08:02 AM ET 11.16 | Thanks to DeMarco Murray, Felix Jones returns to the Cowboys lineup with a slightly different job description. [Jerry Jones] acknowledges that Jones will return as a change of pace back who will get spot carries in place of rookie Murray who has emerged as the team's work horse back in Jones absence. Murray has rushed for 601 yards the past four games, including three outings with more than 100 yards. His numbers, which are more than any back in team history over a four-game span, and the fact that he gets stronger as the game goes on demand that he get the bulk of the carries. [Said Jerry Jones:] "One thing that comes to my mind that Murray looks like the more he carries the more effective he gets."

No Jerry... the entire offense looks more effective the more carries he gets.

Felix is a back up.

Felix is a nice change of pace guy but certainly not a workhorse. Less is more with Felix.

What is sad is that if he didn't think he'd be lynched and run out of town, JJ would still insist on Felix being #1. Why? Because he was a 1st round pick over Chris Johnson and Mendenhahl (spelling?). It is killing him that a rookie flyer pick in the 3rd round is better than a guy he chose in the 1st round (go ahead and throw Jenkins in that waste bag as well - nice draft that year!) Also, since when does an owner decide who starts? I thought that was the job of the head coach.

How do you consider Murray a "flyer"? It's not like he went to a division 2 school and put up nice numbers. He set a school TD record at Oklahoma and last time I checked there were some nice RB's coming out of that program.

As a noted Cowboys historian, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this practice began around March of Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Four.

Wrong Jones. It is Jerry who should be returning to a reduced role.

Blessed is the team that has this kind of running-back controversy. More often, it's "go down to the loading dock at UPS and find some guy to fill in until the other guys get out of the hospital. Or jail."

We had that guy ... he was in the backfield with Quincy.

The only reason we hit on Smith, CArter, and Murray is because of the law of averages. We totally missed with everyone in 2009, missed with our first rounders in 2008. Really ... go back and look at the drafting of players since Jimmy Johnson left. Its rediculous. 2008 there were like 4 backs better than Felix Jones (Chris Johnson, Mendenhall, Matt Forte, Ray Rice) ... but Jerry HAD to have his guy from Arkansas.

They got it back up? It was down about 4 hours ago.

You know what they say about it being up for more than 4 hours...

murray has earned this starting role.... felix will make a fine filler for when murray needs a break. wonder if there is a huge salary difference? are we looking at another future "roy williams" where miles came in and replaced the overpaid WR and got the job? funny... austin is a great WR when he can play.

Yes. It says "Seek immediate medical help. Call the hospital and ask them to send 3 or 4 pretty nurses over immediately."
