08:01 AM ET 11.17 | Injured Kevin Kolb spent Sunday on the sidelines, yet believes he helped his new team beat his former team. [In a Tuesday radio appearance], Kolb said he was able to identify some of the Eagles' plays and was shouting out instructions to the Cardinals defensive backs. ... "I'd go 'Hold on, they're gonna do this.' And you don't know if they changed things up or what ... but the ones that I was for sure on, I was letting it ring, and I think I helped us out maybe just a little bit here and there," he said. Kolb explained that he worked with the defensive coaching staff during the week to help Arizona prepare for Michael Vick and the Eagles' offense. During the two-minute drill, you almost feel guilty," Kolb said with a laugh.

Kolb is a jerk if he did that.

Sooo, Gruden was a jerk when he beat his old team in the Superbowl?

No not at all, but Kolb wants to make noise cause he's not working out in Arizona.

Guess that isn't the same as illegal filming, is it?

Who cares - if it had been the other way around...

Wait - then someone would have been calling out Arizona's plays... and they suck.

wasn't there a well traveled player who a team would sign just to do this?

And really...who thought he was the answer to anyone's qb problems?

Disagree. His job is to help his team win. If he can provide "scouting" -- albeit insider -- information, so be it. Don't act like you wouldn't do the same thing in the same situation.

If the Eagles have left everything the same as it was when Kolb was there and they know he's sitting on the sidelines they deserve it. On the other hand if Andy would have been as smart of people say he is he would have used this to set the cards up for a big sting

November 17, 2011  08:30 AM ET

Um....you were supposed to do that, dummy! Doesn't change the fact that you're still a garbage QB. I don't know why Fitz agreed to a contract extension to stay there. Kurt Warner is long gone and the Cardinals aren't going anywhere for quite some time.

It's both underhanded and dishonorable. The NFL is dog-eat-dog though so I'm not surprised. I can't imagine how he could be proud of himself.

If the Eagles are stupid enough to make their plays being able to be read from someone on the team LAST YEAR....than they deserve it

Kolb is not a jerk for helping out. He is a jerk for bragging about it and for implying that the defense wasn't completely responsible for playing so well.

And Andy Reid is a moron for not realizing...hey Kevin Kolb is on their sideline, and he knows my playbook- maybe I should give them a look where it looks like one thing he knows and change it.

What else does Kevin Kolb have going for him? This is the second best thing for him all season behind signing a contract that made him vastly overpaid

November 17, 2011  09:01 AM ET

Kolb on the sideline is more effective than Vick on the field

Nothing new here. Teams have done this for years. sign a guy for a few weeks before you play his ex team, grill him for info, and release him a week later. Anybody who does not think Steve Smith of the Giants, while still injured, was given $2.2 million dollars to play for the Eagles and that signing was not to learn more about the Giants plays and all is naive.
DCs are not stupid. They can tell you what play is coming lots of times, and so can the fan. It comes down to if you can stop it or not.
