08:47 AM ET 11.19 | GQ hosted the 16th annual "Men of the Year" Party celebrating 2011's distinguished honorees, including Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, NBA stars Blake Griffin, JaVale McGee, Shannon Brown, Russell Westbrook and Andre Iguodala. Here's the scoop according to our source at the party, "So all the athletes were clamoring to talk to Jay-Z in his private section, even Melo, but because of the lockout, Jay had to turn them all down. He refused to let any of them thru, and also warned his security to watch out because of his NBA ownership, he wasn't allowed to fraternize with them," said our source.

QUOTE(#9):

Another reason why the players create their own league. They won't have to socialize w/ other celebrity stars...lmfaoThey are fighting for their stupid pride. They don't want to be bullied and don't want to be slaves so they decide to create their own 3rd world type league... No more luxury hotels, arenas, airplanes, millions in salary, etc. They'd rather work like slaves instead of having all the luxuries they have in the NBA...smh

Would they?...if they sign a huge national TV deal, unlike the deal the NBA has because this new league has teams that everyone wants to watch on a national stage.....think about it prime time slots for EVERY GAME!!!BIG MONEY!!!

This is stupid. He's the part owner of an NBA franchise. Why is this even news?

Co-owner? What does Jay - Z own, like 1% ? Maybe "minimal slice celebrity co-owner."
