10:21 AM ET 11.20 | With Pat Quinn co-chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame committee and Brian Burke now among the voters and the board-room voices, you have to know that if Pavel Bure remains out of the Hall, it will be because Quinn and Burke don't want him there. If Cam Neely's short career was considered Hall of Fame worthy, you can't keep Bure out

Bure belongs in the HOF a lot more than Ed Belfour. I don't surprise me that Quinn and Burke have this over-inflated opinion of themselves and cherry pick who they think belongs and who doesn't.

By the way, you toads also blew it with regards to the late Pat Burns who also should have a spot in there.

A Sunday morning double shot - Burkie and Quinn, two dooshe bags for the price of one.

Two windbags who egos the size of Detroit.

The HHOF has really low standards, put him in.

But not next year, next years class is a good one. Mats, Sakic, Shanny, and I guess probably JR.

I think Gary Roberts will have a shot, along with Cujo and Naslund. But that is simply due to the low standards.

Bure not getting in next year will not be due to Quinn or Burke...there are more qualified players' ahead of him. Dumb article.

Leave it to Burke and Quinn to sully the process. Maybe they could make Burke the GM of the Raptors. He'd fit right in with that group.

That's funny...since when has the process not been sullied already and Burke has had nothing to do with it?

Are they the reason i'm not in as well? Jerks.

The hall of fame should be the best of the best Bure was the best of his era blueline in and one of the most exciting players ever if Naslund gets in and Bure doesn't you know that Burke and Quinn stuck it too Bure

It still goes back to the Jim Gregory cronies club rid the HoF of Dick Duff and lets get tough on who gets in there

November 20, 2011  02:51 PM ET

How could they not have put in Pat Burns, as slowly succumbed to cancer? He's going in there, probably next year....they should have done things right. Bure is HOF material, and to thing for personal reasons he would be kept out....reeks of pettiness!

Wilson and Kessel will be a lock for the Hall ..

November 20, 2011  03:39 PM ET

I knew that was the moron Steve Simmons before i even clicked on the article. His style is "i have nothing to say so ill just spew".

Doesn't make it right though.

Bure score 50, 5 times. His other seasons? Injury riddled or pathetic. He didn't reach a significant career milestone and never strung more than 2 good seasons together in a row.

Hall of Fame talent, and fantastic single season numbers....but no, not a hall of famer.

Neither he nor Neely belong. Sorry, it is hard to be a HOFer...and injury is part of the game. Tim Kerr had 4 straight 50s and a 48....injury took its toll and he didn't get a call.

And Belfour? A ring, 2 vezina, 4 jennings, rookie of year and one of most winningest keepers in the game's history for both playoffs and regular season? Not to mention 2 gold medals - which count as it is not the NHL hall of fame.

Give your head a shake....Eddie is a HOFer.

Injuries cut Bure's career short. When he played, he had few equals. No-one could match his speed on skates. The HOF should recognized he had an impact on the game. Belfour played for defensive-minded coaches at a time when the league went from wide-open play with Gretzky and Lemieux dominating to the trap. They probably voted him in because he played a few years in To***to.

Good points Splorch, it's not always about stats, that is true, but you can't ignore them either. I think Bure is a candidate, and I would argue about Neely as well....sometimes injury can shorten or limit a career....but if you put up the numbers, and were a locker room leader, and fan favorite....I dunno.....good call on Tim Kerr though...

That is a given with Burke taking Sinden`s seat ..
