08:29 AM ET 11.22 | Firing the coach is a tried, if not tired, button to push on a season. Here's the unfortunate truth about the Avs in the Sort of Post Pierre Lacroix Period: The people who might fire [Joe Sacco], whoever they are, should be looking in the mirror instead. ... [Every] major transaction the Avs' front office touches these days seems to turn to sludge. This is a rather marked contrast to the transactions during the Pierre Lacroix is Actually Here Period. ... Since Lacroix kicked himself upstairs, the Avs have named successive number-crunchers to his old job. The latest, also in his third year, is an earnest young suit named Greg Sherman who may or may not be a better judge of hockey talent than you or me.

Doubt it. Flintstone was an O-Line man. No way he would have a QB in his descendants. ;)

And lo, since the Avalanche only play one decent period of hockey per game, it could be said that they wandered in the wilderness for 40 minutes...
