08:31 AM ET 11.22 | Kings left wing Dustin Penner was bit by the snake again. Penner was starting to find a small measure of consistency when he took a shot off his hand in the third period against the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 10, and it landed him on injured reserve. He will travel with the Kings on their short trip to St. Louis and Dallas this week but won't be returning to the lineup imminently. "That one caught me square in the knuckles -- that was kind of a freak thing," Penner said after practice on Monday in El Segundo. ... This latest injury follows a sore knee and injured groin, among other ailments. Penner has two assists in 14 games. "I think the count is at six or seven injuries now since before the start of the season."

Hard to get excited about somebody on pace for 11.5 assists this year.

Is "snake-bitten" a legitimate IR term?

And another player you can add to the list that hates the Canucks.

I think that's how the Pens listed Staal last year.

Yes, it is. It's a chronic condition. He got bit after he signed his first big, fat contract in the NHL.

Unfortunately for the Kings, there is no antidote for it!

They could employ the method the Oilers used to treat it.

Penner is one of the most overrated guys in the NHL. I don't know who or why he was ever expected to do big things.
