How would Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen explain this rivalry to an alien? "It's really like World War III," he said. "It's just two teams that dislike each other a lot -- respect each other a lot, but dislike each other a lot -- and fans that take it over the top." ... Bama by at least 3 touchdowns. Maybe 5. Last year's was the most humiliating Iron Bowl loss in Tide history. Worse than Punt Bama Punt because it lead to an MNC for Auburn.

This is the same boiler plate article we see every year during rivalry week. "Blood spilled ... bones rattles ... bragging rights settled ... hatred runs deep .... outsiders can't understand ... blah blah blah..."
When it comes to "rivalry week" the journalists just mail it in. Last night on ESPN the 3 talking heads used all the worn out cliches trying to make the game more than it really was.
