11:14 AM ET 11.27 | Kerry Earnhardt hasn't competed in a NASCAR race since July 2009, and the 41-year-old driver wants to do what he loves. That means he wants to spend his time outdoors, but not necessarily at the race track. The oldest son of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. still hopes to have a connection to racing but hopes it's through drivers appearing on the outdoors television show he's working on or at the track when son Jeffrey is racing. But with 106 starts in NASCAR's three national series - seven in Cup, 72 in Nationwide and 27 in trucks - Earnhardt doesn't expect to have another one.

Wise choice.....follow your heart.....if kerry competed seriously in Cup the pressure on him would be as bad or worse that it is on Jr....Kerry looks so much like his dad......he also did not grow up with his dad, so the racing bug did not bite him quite as hard........the full story includes his desire for this show to raise funds and awareness for Wildlife preservation.....I hope I can see the show in my area.

Jr. said Kerry was a better driver than he was. Kerry has pretty much always been in inferior equipment, but I have never seen him do that good
Lil E., Ward Burton also is doing alot for widlife preservation now that his driving career is pretty much over. That and he's working on trying to get his son's driving career going.

Anyone who works for the benefit of the lovely outdoors and natural habitats for animals, warms my heart......the way I unwind from a hectic (and phony) corporate world is to head north and get "lost in the woods"......I cannot imagine life without that benefit, which is healthy and free.
So kudos to Kerry & Ward and anyone else who works on this.

I didn't expect a new story, but glad we all got one, Kerry is the smart one in the family, do what YOU want to do,,NOT what everybody else wants you to do. Good on ya man.

UPDATE 4: "Shell and Pennzoil are disappointed with recent actions by driver Kurt Busch at the final race of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race season," the company said in a statement. "His actions are in no way consistent with the way we want our brands represented and we have expressed our disappointment and concerns directly to Penske Racing."
sounds exactly like the statement m&m's made for kyle

Short of Shell / Pennzoil saying "we want Brad in the #22" to Roger and you can Move Kurt back to the #2 Miller Lite car ...
Remember Shell / Pennzoil was able to move Kurt from the #2 at the beginning of the season. And Brad got the #2 ride ... guess Shell / Pennzoil picked the WRONG driver ...
