The case for keeping Arenas

08:07 AM ET 11.29 | Gilbert Arenas is considered a prime candidate for the amnesty provision, but there are more than a few legitimate reasons for the Magic to keep Agent Zero in the fold. His potential: Arenas can be a potent scorer if his knee is healthy and his mindset is right. It's tough to release any player with his potential. ... The Magic could reduce their cap and tax burdens by waiving another other player, especially Hedo Turkoglu, who is due about $11 million this season. ... Point-guard depth: Waiving Arenas would leave the Magic with two point guards, Jameer Nelson and Chris Duhon, and the team then would have to sign a third point guard. Plus, Duhon didn't play well offensively last season.

In order to release Hedo they need to find the bar he's hiding in

QUOTE(#9):

Howard seemed to like Arenas and felt that Stan didn't use him correctly last season. I think unless the Magic come out and fall on their face Dwight will play out the season and try to win. If Dwight is serious about not wanting Arenas or SVG then they are gone whenever he wants. Everyone that keeps saying that he hates Stan are way off base.

So Howard is like every other superstar playing for a weak team, wants to make the GM decisions.

Even if he's not a cap killer the guy is probably next to Lebron when it comes to dumbness. Anybody that will think twice about getting rid of this guy needs a sanity check... heck I don't even want him around my kids... he aint nothing but another mouth for mother earth to feed...
