08:21 AM ET 11.29 | In addition to the one he signed at Ohio State, Urban Meyer pointed to another important contract Monday. It was the contract written up by his 21-year-old daughter, Nicki, that the Meyer family hopes will allow him, less than a year after retiring as the coach at Florida, to get back into football with more balance and less of the unhealthy obsession with what he called "the pursuit of perfection." ... Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith said Meyer will be forced to take vacations. Shelley Meyer said opportunities to watch their children -- Nicki, a Georgia Tech volleyball player; Gigi, Florida Gulf Coast volleyball player; and 13-year-old Nathan -- play sports will be finagled.

I listened to his press conference. He referred to "leaving center field" during the last years at UF. I refer to it as trying to order someone else's dog around or trying to control things over which you have no control. Doing such is very stressful. If he learned how futile trying to do that is and doesn't attempt it any more, he'll be healthier and happier.

If the Buckeyes get the Urban pre 2010 SEC championship game, they made the right hire. If they get the Urban post Saban whomping then get used to Hail to the Victors.

This vacation BS has been tried before though with a depleted coaching staff.

Glad to see Meyer coaching outside of the SEC. Wasn't really a fan while he was down here.

Dealing with police blotters and hassles getting athletes to qualify academically were hard on Urban. How is moving to tOSU going to be any different?

Meyer is 7-1 in bowl games. Does anyone remember who that one loss was to?

QUOTE(#14):

That's a terrific question. I respect Meyer's coaching resume, but I would caution anyone to take what he says with a grain of salt.

I hope he's a good coach for Ohio and he plays a lot of close games against Michigan and loses them all.

This job is going to be tough for Urban and it will be no different than Florida. There still will be that constant parade to the county lock-up to get his players out of jail and on the academic side he will have to petition the administrators to institute courses such as using the remote to turn on the TV and putting ones shoes on the appropriate foot to keep his players eligible.
