08:19 AM ET 11.29 | Nick Saban chose diplomacy when asked about his rooting interest in the SEC title game, but some wondered whether he was making a loud sartorial statement Monday. Saban walked into his Monday press conference dressed in a crimson-colored sport coat wearing a matching striped tie. He quipped he wasn't dressed to impress reporters. Then he snapped when asked if he would campaign for Alabama's ticket to the BCS championship game. "I'm not campaigning for anything," Saban said. ... "Everybody has a full body of work to look at, and I think we should be able to stand pretty reasonably well on that body of work. It is, in my opinion, what the players deserve."

No, Saban is saying that Houston should play in the BCS championship game.

If the BCS is working right, isn't that what everyone wants, for it to work right, then if it does and it pits 1 vs 2, then what is the problem, the system works.

They already played. Bama had their shot at LSU at Bryant Denny. However, whoelse is it going to be besides Bama?

No, the suits behind the BCS want it to work like they want it to work and designed it that way. When the best two teams meet to suit their whims, then yeah, they want it to work the way they designed it. When it doesn't get their pets in, they don't want it to work.

Colonel just because the "flawed" BCS says the LSU and Bama are #1 and #2, doesn't necessary make it so and mean " the system works"!!! :-)

Bama lost to LSU, end of story!!! Give Houston, Boise State, Stanford or Okie (if they beat OU) Lite a chance, or even Georgia if they beat LSU.

You're just describing the subjectivity that has ALWAYS existed in college football...... this isn't anything new. When has the system worked any differently? It was the same with the AP/UPI poll and bowl tie-ins. So, what's different now?Other than smaller schools have less of a chance than ever of competing for the "title".

Bro, you are right, but it doesn't mean that the system can't change!!!
