As Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge aggressively pursues possible deals for [Rondo], the Indiana Pacers have emerged as an intriguing suitor for the point guard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. ... The Pacers and Celtics have discussed the preliminary framework of a deal, but two sources said Indiana would need a third team to provide Boston with the talent it wants to do a deal. It was unclear if the Pacers had begun to reach out to broaden discussions.

I would think NO needs Collison more than Rondo because of Collison's scoring ability.

Celts don't need an extension signature from CP3. They recognize their last window of opportunity with the big three is this very season. This is their last stance and who better to go down with than CP3. If they win a championship, CP3 will stay and they can reup Pierce, Ray and Garnet with reasonable contracts to keep competing. If they fail to win. They start from scratch and I mean whole sale... CP3 heads to NY, Pierce, Allen and KG all get traded for picks to kick the rebuilding party.
CP3 to Boston can be a one night stand or lead to a long term marriage. Personally I'm petrified at the potency of pairing KG & CP3. Those guys are two of the fierce competitors in the league and can wreck great havoc if KG stays healthy.
As for Hornets they can a young point guard and something to show for the inevitable exodus of Chris Paul.
It's a win-win situation with Boston assuming the greater risk. But it has to be done...

Yeah, especially if CP3 gets anywhere near as aggresive as Melo did last year and force their hand.

If that means no rings for those pigs in Miami I'm all for it but I like to think Melo is a better recruiter than Ainge... NY always wins!

Yeah the NBA owned Hornets are trying to help out one of the NBA stable franchise the Boston Celtics. After all the NBA doesn't want the Celtic to be irrelevant again after 20 years of them being irrelevant.
And correct me if I'm wrong. But didn't Rondo say in the past that he was a way better point guard the Chris Paul. And didn't the two get in a small scuffle in the past aftre a game. So Rondo if your so much better then Paul. Why does your team want to trade you for him?

Paul should find a way to go to the Clippers, he could form a combo with Griffin like Stoudemire and Nash had in Phoenix. Best for Howard would be the Nets with D-Will or the Lakers. Just how i see it would be best for their careers moving forward, ala Lebron last year.
