Six teams in on Nene sweepstakes

08:13 AM ET 11.30 | How Nene winds up with his next team may be as interesting as where he winds up. The Nuggets are operating under the firm belief that Nene will test the market as an unrestricted free agent, according to a person familiar with the team's thinking. Six teams have registered interest, the source said: Golden State, New Jersey, Indiana, Miami, Dallas and Houston. [Nene] will have a say over where he winds up -- though not as much as free agents did under the previous system since free agents can no longer get max deals when leaving their teams via sign-and-trades. Nene, 29, has long coveted Miami and Dallas as landing spots, but would have to force his way to one of those teams via a sign-and-trade since both are well over the cap.

No Dallas, no Lakers, No Knicks, no Cleveland? I am thinking more teams then the ones above would want his services.

QUOTE(#9):

While I don't think he'd go to a lousy team- just for a big paycheckI don't think he's just going to sign for 3 mil somewhere good, when there are too many bigger offers on the table. If he signs in say miami for 3 mil for 3 years....he could make that in ONE somewhere and have a 3-4 year deal. he'd be forgoing like 25-30 mil....I highly doubt he'd do that

I doubt that as well, especially with the C market being scarce right now.

For sure.. Nene is not ego driven about championships and legacies and all that crap. He's gotten a close call with death getting his nuts operated on. I think he'll stay in Denver if they offer him anything close to what he deserves. For him it's about quality of life and happiness. He's not dumb like Lebron who lied to his own people and backstabbed them to pursue his selfish interest of winning a championship with his friends... there's more to life than winning a championship and I like to think Nene recognizes that...

QUOTE(#4):

Is he somebody that you really think would help Dallas? I believe Chandler is the better fit.

Chandler is way better fit than Nene....he does everything that compliments Dirk skills or lack there of on defense. He is a much better rebounder and help defender than Nene is.

When David Robinson was in the twilight of his career, the Spurs drafted Tim Duncan to man the middle, although he always called himself a p.f. Time for the same song, 2nd verse. Amnesty Jefferson, bring in Nene. Tim's big contract is up @ the end of the year, so there will be some room to play. A trio of Duncan, Blair and Nene rotating between the 4 and 5 would be great to see. Tim has another 2 or 3 seasons in him, and this would help make sure that the minutes he played would be productive.
