08:23 AM ET 12.01 | In the event one needed further evidence that bigtime college football is a high-stakes game, consider what's on the line for LSU. [A] BCS championship would net the 10-member staff, including Coach Les Miles and strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt, $1.15 million combined in bonuses, according to figures released by the school. Miles has earned $100,000 for his third appearance in the SEC championship game, and a victory against Georgia on Saturday would net him another $100,000, plus $200,000 for making a BCS bowl game. Winning a BCS title adds another $100,000 for a maximum of $500,000 in postseason-appearance bonuses.

I wonder if Miles gets a bonus if his players, the ones that don't go to the NFL, are able to become productive members of society with a degree in hand.
