08:12 AM ET 12.02 | Veteran free agent lefty Mark Buehrle is drawing particular interest among at least one team with a young rotation. With veteran starting pitching the D-backs' remaining offseason priority, [Kevin Towers] has made contact with the representatives of [Buehrle], sources with knowledge of the situation said. Buehrle's acquisition would be a significant upgrade to a young rotation that was a D-backs strength in 2011 despite playing home games in a decided hitters' park. However, it is believed that discussions were only preliminary as Towers attempted to establish price points while valuing the market. "You'd be thrilled to have a guy like that," a baseball source said.

I have always thought that Buehrle would end up with the Cards someday...but that could just be wishful thinking this year.

well, pitching in the NL West will improve his numbers and if he signs a 1 year deal, he'll hit the jackpot the next season.

They can claim that Arizona is a "hitters park", but the good news is that the hitters in the NL West make up for it.

He's probably going to be a bargain when you compare him to what Wilson and his agent are looking for.
