Garrett iced his own kicker in loss

08:00 AM ET 12.05 | Even a supportive crowd on the road in Phoenix didn't help the Cowboys. Never mind that many, if not half, of 62,180 fans were Cowboys fans. This was the third loss for the Cowboys here on the final play of the game, including visits in 2008 and 2010. The Cowboys were their own worst enemy with missed opportunities early, critical penalties and then calling a questionable timeout preceding their own attempt for a game-winning field goal in the waning moments. Dan Bailey???s miss from 49 yards with 2 seconds left came after he made one only to have it nullified when coach Jason Garrett called a timeout, essentially icing his own kicker.

That's bad. Also no mention of the fact that there were 20-something seconds left on the clock that could've been used to try moving them closer for an easier kick. Total coaching meltdown.

<shakes head> WTF!!!!!

Garrett cost them this game twice; first on the first FG decision in the 1st quarter when they should have gone for it on 4th and one. And the clock managment on the last drive in regulation was redonkulous. The Post game conference, visible on NFL.com was hilarous to see Romo trying to "justify" the decisions from the sideline. All he needed was a Top Hat and Cane to go with the tap dancing he was doing.

That's Dallas for you. they've always made dumb moves, they will lose next as well....with poor decisions

You're right Eli always puts up good numbers against the weak Cowboy secondary.

I guess Garrett was saving the time-out for something that made more sense... like the one he used.

You've got to beat teams like Arizona to make the playoffs. On the other hand, with the rest of your division playing the way they are....

Dumb ass.

December 5, 2011  08:21 AM ET

Truly incredible. The division was theirs to lose, and probably still is, but the Giants got a moral victory of sorts last night, and it could give them some momentum.

Smart enough to beat Washington twice. Ok, that doesn't take too much smarts. Oh well, on to the Giants.

Still a dumb ass.
