08:08 AM ET 12.05 | Forgive Rajon Rondo for not being all that fired up about the Celtics chasing Chris Paul. [Rondo] has not been pleased to see his name mentioned so prominently in trade talks this week. But the agent for the Celtics point guard said [Friday] he believes the matter has calmed considerably. ... President Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers endorsed Rondo on Thursday, but stopped short of saying the club definitely wouldn't let him go. According to one source, Rondo has been angry with the sense the Celts are shopping him, but his representative used calmer language to describe the player's response. "I think he's just curious," said Bill Duffy, who was at the Celtics practice facility yesterday.

Rondo needs to grow up and understand that it's a business. Everyone is expendable. Especially whiney-**** hyper-emotional guys like him.

His big pout act when Perkins was traded was pretty revealing as to just how immature Rondo can be.

QUOTE(#5):

Agree.....E, do you think rondo can be the centerpiece of your franchise (post big 3) ?

The centerpiece? No... not really. As great a PG as he is.. without a reliable shot he lacks the offense that I would expect from a guy that would merit that status.

Magic Johnson aside (6'9" gives him a huge advantage over his defenders) I never think of any PG regardless of good he is as being the position that I would build my team around

Good morning JGB

It's funny but the more stars bounce around the more they feed this problem. The NBA used to be about bonding and building a relationship with the team that drafted you. Now it's a different type of relationship for players, fans and franchises. Rondo wants what the NBA used to be; A mutual respect and love relationship with the fans and franchise that isn't easily broken. It's a whole new NBA now. Not a marriage any more. More like a hooker/john relationship and players are causing themselves to be treated as commodities now. Sorry fellas you can't have your cake and eat it also.I used to think Ainge was crazy but now I'm seeing that he is just ahead of the curve and has already adjusted to this new reality.

They expanded to so many teams that you really cannot build a great team throught the draft anymore. You cant get enough really good players without the older ones leaving for the likes of the Lakers and whoever else is winning.

I figured it was a matter of time before Rondo started pouting.

Im with Rondo on this... The nerve of Boston! Dude broke an arm and played his heart out with a freaking broken arm! And they want to reward him by trading him. Rondo can come to Cleveland or the Knicks then.. We need somebody with heart like that!

I don't know, players have always left. Kareem, Shaq, Wilt Chamberlain... And it seems that some teams really never lose great players. So why I see your point I don't think it's that much different.
