Would Orlando move Howard for Griffin?

08:06 AM ET 12.06 | If you're Otis Smith, what would you do? [Do] you pick up the phone, call the Clippers and say, 'Let's end this right now. You give me Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman and that unprotected No. 1 pick for next year from Minnesota and you have a deal.' How could the Magic do better? They'd get a 23-year-old nightly highlight reel to put butts in all of those new seats in the year-old Amway Center. They'd get a center in Kaman who has been an All-Star and who, conveniently, is in the last year of his contract. And they would get the Holy Grail of Draft picks -- an unprotected No. 1 pick from the Timberwolves! ... It's only one of the deepest Drafts, potentially, in the last 20 years.

Sounds good. Better than busted Bynum for sure.

Yeah but why the hell would the Clips do it (Besides the fact they're the Clips)?

Not a good move if your the Clippers. Blake Griffin is what the Clippers need in terms of relevance. The Clippers have a center in Jordan and if you move Blake for Howard your only going to have to me Jordan as well. Howard is not as versatile as Blake, yes; he's probably the best center in the game today but he's one dimensional in that his offense of platued. If your the Clippers bench depth is what is needed. I believe it would be a step back if the Clippers make a deal with Orlando.

The Magic should have to give up a lot more than that to land Griffin. The Clippers have already said that everyone is available to trade EXCEPT Black Griffin. Even the Clips aren't that dumb.

If Otis can pull that off, he has my props. That will be one heck of a trade!

If you're the Clips, Jordan, Gordon, and the pick should do it. If not, I'd trade Griffin and Kaman for DH12 any day of the week.
He's a top-3 player, without any injury history.
Goodbye Griffin. No hesitation.

If they get Dwight's extension they are guarunteed to have the best Center in the NBA. Plus they avoid going though what Orlando, NO and NJ are going through. Griffin only has 2 years left on his contract.Dwight locked in for 6 or Griffin for only 2 more years. Which would you take? That's why they may do it but there are reasons why they may not do it also. It really depends on their direction. Griffin and Kamen are a lot to give up but then Howard is pretty special.

I still don't see a scenario where Griffin wouldn't stay. Assuming the Clips actually are serious about getting better for once, you have an attractive city, the chance to compete and they can offer proper dollars to a supporting staff. Howard's a stunner of a big man, and defensively few compare, but i've looked at Griffin as a power in the way Kobe or Jordan were, with the drive to match.

If the Clips got Howard and kept D. Jordan...defensively they would be very formidable. A shot wouldn't reach the rim.
