08:19 AM ET 12.06 | On a day when realignment talk dominated much of the NHL landscape, Bruce Boudreau added feul to a regional rivalry. The question appeared designed to generate a pithy, run-of-the-mill sound clip, one about wading into the Kings-Ducks rivalry waters. Instead, [Boudreau] looked into the camera and with three sentences made the Kings-Ducks competition sound, well, compelling and worth tracking Tuesday night in Anaheim. This, a matchup between a team with 13 wins (the Kings) and one in a free fall (the Ducks). "I think there's going to be a lot of hatred on both sides. When I was part of the Kings' organization, they certainly didn't like the Ducks," said Boudreau. ... "Now that I'm here, I certainly don't like the Kings."

Pretty much the sentiment regarding hockey in Southern California.

I'll never forget the Ducks' "Victory Parade" in the parking lot of the Pond, attracting a WHOPPING 10,000 ppl (so they said). What a joke.

The 10,000 who showed up thought they'd get free beer.

If he wanted to deliver a pithy comment he shoulda got a tip or two from Hank.

Fanning flames? This barely qualifies as smoldering embers.

I read or saw somewhere that he was recycling his own quotes from 24/7.

Not all that inspiring if you ask me.

Feul - Jelly-filled donuts. Bruce eats them by the basket.

I understand the deflection but that doesn't change the facts. The turn out for your parking lot parade was pathetic. I'll never understand the idea of parading the most historic trophy in the history of mankind around a parking lot.

Sure it's been 37 years since my team won the Cup, but when we did we took it down Broad Street and EVERYONE came out to participate. I'm relatively certain when the Leafs win it next (whenever that may be) that place will go ballistic and it will certainly not be paraded around a damn parking lot.

No, I said flames with a lowercase 'f' not Flames, the grand hockey club of Western Canada! :) Besides, you know I'm a big fan of their heritage uniforms!
