08:23 AM ET 12.07 | Prior to starting in Toronto against the Maple Leafs, Martin Brodeur was asked whether he could envision himself playing for another team after this season. "In the future you never know, but I don't want to," Brodeur said. "But if I want to play -- and I have so much respect for this organization -- and if they don't feel I'm the guy for them and they want to move on, if I still want to play I have to look after myself. I don't see that happening, but I can't say no." He said he hasn't decided what will happen beyond this season. "I don't know. I haven't really put any thought into that," the goalie said. "I'm just playing day by day, trying to get my game together, play well and try to get into the playoffs with the Devils."

In a word - NO

Put a decent D in front of him and he can still play his part. Just don't think that will be in the dirty Jerzzz anytime soon.

Not happening.

Hmm. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire.

He's been known to switch 'teammates' before.

Lou will trade him for Lulu.

We need Nard to dispel this nasty rumor.

He's trying to compose himself lest he later regret what he says about this rumor.

Well he could retire after this season having done all there is to do as a goalie, or he could spend a couple more years on a good team with a solid D. If I were him though, I'd refuse to become a backup unless maybe if it were in NJ

I actually pictured this headline pushing him into Fred Sanford mode - "This is the big one! I'm coming Elisabeth!" :)

Haha

Martin B, as much as i love you for everything you have done for the devils, i think its time to stop. and please do not go to another team, be classy, stop as the best goalie ever for the best team ever (okay maybe not the best team ever) and get your number up together with 3,4 and 27 (dec 16th)

He will do what's good for Marty in the end...money has no team colour...and some guys want to play as long as they can. Hey, as far as I'm concerned he's earned the right to do whatever he wants to do with the rest of his career.

That would suck in some many ways. Martin needs to retire as a Devil, end of story.

He won't go anywhere. Lou wouldn't let him. He might be a back up (shoot he might be this year) but won't be for another team. His numbers aren't good this year, but watching him play, he is playing better then that. Problem is his D in front of him stinks.

He will retire a Devil.

As he should and I hope he does, he deserves that honor.
