Applewhite on Florida's radar

08:17 AM ET 12.09 | The notion that Charlie Weis would push Florida's offense to new heights for Will Muschamp never quite materialized, and, on Thursday, Weis took the open head coaching job at Kansas. Muschamp almost certainly will approach Texas co-offensive coordinator Major Applewhite about the position, as was largely speculated with the first-year coach was originally hired. Applewhite returned to his alma mater after spending the 2007 season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Alabama, where he was the youngest coordinator in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision. Muschamp also said former Gator quarterback and current Jacksonville University head coach Kerwin Bell is someone he would consider for the opening.

I hear Steve Addazio would come back. He was solid. :-)

Better hurry and find someone decent. 6-6 again and it could get ugly.

Weis set such an impressive standard, I don't know if anyone can come in and match the offense this year.

You can have Chaney. No seriously, you can take him away now.

MG=Sarcasm winner for the day.

Does anyone besides me think that Jabba's a better fit (if that body can fit anywhere) in the NFL as an OC than a college guy? He just doesn't seem to get the same results with offenses in college.

Kind of opposite of Saban...he doesn't seem to fit in the NFL.

If Weis thinks he didn't have the players he needed to run his offense at UF, what kind of players does he think he's inheriting at Kansas?

Applewhite. Wanted him last year could go after him this year.

He's a darn good recruiter. The primary guy that landed Brown, Bergeron and hopefully Gray

Do you like him as co-offensive-coordinator, though?

That's good because old farts are glad they have a memory.

All I do know is TM7 was the DPOTY!! And he is the 3rd best CB on the team..Which has the Thorpe winner..So being the 3RD best DB is not a requirement for the DPLOTY??????????Also.. who could this caller be..Call to Jim Dunaway's Jox Roundtable(Birmingham) this afternoon.Gump just on a rant on how TM7 was lucky to be at right place with the turnovers, and punt returns.Also called him a thug wow haven't heard that one yet.[b]Said Javier Arenas is another league compared to TM7.[/]Like I wouldnt find out..

It wasn't me but it's true, lol.

Didn't get DB of the year.... hmmm... wonder why..... hmmmmmm....

Anyway most of that is a popularity contest, except the Outland and the Doak Walker award.

I don't listen to Jox, because they are anti-Alabama.
