08:02 AM ET 12.09 | Jared Allen made this weekend's Vikings-Lions game a little bit more interesting. The [Lions hope] to get back on the winning track when they welcome the 2-10 Minnesota Vikings to town this Sunday. Previewing the game for KFAN-FM, Vikings star defensive end Jared Allen expressed his dislike for the city of Detroit. "I don't like going to Detroit," Allen said. "I'll be honest, it's gloomy, it sucks. Everything is brown and then there is snow on the ground. There's like Brownstones everywhere and I'm like, 'Awesome.' I don't know, I couldn't do it. If I had to live in Detroit, I think I'd just drown myself in the river that was across the way. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's just depressing when I go there," he continued.

So sorry the economy isn't to your liking Jared. Maybe if you stopped buying Chinese made goods and started buying more American made ones it would turn around.

December 9, 2011  08:07 AM ET

Like they don't have snow in Minnesota? What a dumb **** statement.

December 9, 2011  08:07 AM ET

More depressing than being 2-10?

December 9, 2011  08:13 AM ET

Why is he being interviewed by Danny DeVito in the photo? Odd...

December 9, 2011  08:14 AM ET

Detroit's not in a pissy enough mood already...

December 9, 2011  08:15 AM ET

It all goes back to Mayor Coleman Young, who destroyed the city by alienating everyone but his own political base. There's a lot of truth in what Allen is saying.

December 9, 2011  08:16 AM ET

So much for the Chamber of Commerce's "Visitors Love Detroit" campaign...

December 9, 2011  08:17 AM ET

The joint is depressing, though.... But I'll take it over Green Bay.

December 9, 2011  08:18 AM ET

Oh! Wait.... I mean No... He doesn't play for Green Bay...

Minneapolis >>>> Detroit hell yeah.

I highly doubt it.

Detroit literally has no color, and is dull... Everything IS brown.

December 9, 2011  08:41 AM ET

They hardly have street lights...

December 9, 2011  08:42 AM ET

Pretty sad comment to make about a city & it's people. Take the high road Jared, keep the comments to football related topics!

December 9, 2011  08:53 AM ET

Damn, dude... tell us what you really think...

Was he making a racial comment?

No, it was more of a Cleveland comment.

December 9, 2011  09:23 AM ET

I can see a whole second career in Public Relations opening up for Jared after his playing days are through

Maybe this is the root of Suh's anger management problems? A geography issue and not a football issue? He should see the commish again and tell him this.
