This guy is okay, but not a game changer either.

His best position is probably No. 8 hitter.

He wouldn't last two weeks at 2B for anyone before getting his knee blown out again. He's not natural around the bag. AL teams - this man can hit. Then he just stands around with a glove.

It's obvious that both of you don't know anything about how good a player Daniel Murphy is....

The kids was third in the NL in batting, having the highest AVG after the asb, when he went down with an injury. And he plays 2b, 1b, and 3b (his natural position which he plays above average) decent enough to be on the field.

Yeah, I know he is an adequate (at best) fielder. Probably LF is best, though, right?

As for hitting, it will be interesting to see if he does it again. What was his lifetime average before last season?

its interesting how stats play a big role in every individual, let see if the hitter did outstanding in the offense or he did great in the diffense, or did he hit the slump too many times in the regular season, there could be different type of things that could be affecting the player performance, rest its need it in order to perform 100% no team would like to bring in a player and play him every game with poor offense or poor low game level, the player should have the great motivation not just play just because you had being signed to play, but play the game to the fullest because you really like it not because of the money, money its a part of the deal but the love for the game should be there, the feeling for the game should be there,!!

the angels pitcher santana, has a very weird way to play the regular season,
he plays good in one season, and in the next season he plays better, in one season he would have 12 wins and 10 loses, on the next season he would have, 17 wins and 5 loses, and that's every other season all those games played with the halos, now why santana do that? nobody knows how that happen but he do have conssistance in his pitching arm, and there aren't any injuries that force him to pitch poorly, he do have great durability as a pitcher plus he its a very resiliants as a player, that's what its more interested about him!!

Anyone who thinks he can't hit, should be laughed out of town, and anyone who overly exaggerates his occasional defensive shortcomings, has never seen him make plenty highlight reel plays, doesn't know he has good range, plays a solid and aggressive first and third base, and that he's been asked to play left and second at the big league level with hardly any prior minor league experience at either.

Murphy is a gamer, an extremely tough out, .300 hitting machine, master in the clutch, a pros pro, great teammate, great work ethic and a gentleman. While he's not the prettiest and makes bonehead plays from time to time, nobody plays harder, or could love and respect the game more.

He is a terrific hitter however, he has hands of stone, is an absolute terrible baserunner, has ended more rally's than he started. How many times granted, he got the hit in the late inning only to be thrown out with his mental base running mistakes. Definitely a DH and probably a good one. Today they call fielders choice instead of an error, so you keep the seats filled. He will get killed at second base, he can't make the pivot. Teach him to catch fly balls, if I were him I'd be in Mexico or Puerto Rico right now as an outfielder.
