Why Brady exploded on sidelines

08:02 AM ET 12.12 | You may have seen the video, the one where Tom Brady and Billy O'Brien wound up separated by coaches during a sideline shouting match Sunday. The offense that seeks without seeking was suddenly shrieking without thinking. O'B and TB were hot, and the reason was both knew no lead is safe any longer with the defense they are playing with. ... What such a thing leads to, frankly, is heightened emotions and an increasing sense of foreboding. The offense found itself in a game in which it had to score nearly every time it had the ball just to keep pace with the Deadskins. Hence one errant throw and unwise decision by Brady resulting in meltdown at midfield.

I'm not a real lip-reader, but I'm pretty sure that Brady said, "He was open!" during that polite discussion. Yes, he was open, but then he wasn't. An it wasn't Gronk or Hernandez, who would have come down with the ball or at least prevented the pick, it was (I think) Tiquan Underwood.

WOW. Deadskins. Dead enough to score all those points. I can't believe I'm defending the Redskins. <Shakes head, reaches for coffee>

Even Tebow can score early and often on this defense

I have to agree that I even want to comment on a Deadskin thread but it shows how bad the Patriots D is if the inept Deadskins can score that many points.

Boston Herald calling us "Deadskins"?
The Pats "revamped" their roster with veteran Redskins, so what does that make them?

Given Tebow's brief history, there is no reason to beleive he'll do anything at all until the scoreboard reads "QTR : 4". Hopefully by that time Brady & Co. have buried the Broncos in a deep enough hole that even 'Saint Timmy I' cannot spin a big enough miracle to recover. Guess we'll find out on Sunday.

Overcoming adversity? Actually Andre Carter has been one of my favorite players this year....always seems to be working hard in the pass rush and against the run
No problem with Brady and O'Brien yelling ...we need close games and to get the kinks out to get us ready for the postseason

Carter lead us in Sacks last season... Shanny wanted to get "younger" and moved him way too soon.
However Carrigan actually filled in his spot nicely.

Well, I'm not so sure about that, but the Patriot D is as bad as their numbers indicate. All the bull from the announcing booth about how they give up yards but not points didn't pan out - they gave up yards AND points yesterday, and they were one bad Redskin play away from a tie and a possible loss.
Brady was not in sych with the receivers, or vice versa, either. The margin of victory should have been a lot more comfortable.

Can???t wait for Sunday. I am a Pats fan that???s scared of being Teboed, badly. The defense is ugly this year. They can make any bench sitter look like the next coming of Joe Montana. Shudder.

If you want to get younger then get rid of Shannahan. The game has passed his old ass by.

Gronkowski made Ryan Kerrigan look like Nancy Kerrigan on that pass play where he shrugged him off, then tossed off two other tacklers on the sideline.
Gronk is a monster. He could end up being one of the top tight ends of all time.
