08:07 AM ET 12.13 | Chris Grant won't guarantee the return of Baron Davis, who reportedly left the Cavs for a second opinion on his ailing back. If the Cavs waive Davis or buy out the final two years of his deal, it's conceivable he won't even return to the Cavs' facility as a member of the team. Grant said the back injury won't play into the decision on whether to keep Davis. "We haven't made a decision," Grant said. "Those kind of decisions aren't necessarily based on health. I don't think Baron will be out long term, but I think he'll have some stuff to deal with moving forward." Davis missed time with an assortment of injuries after the Cavs acquired him last season, but primarily the issue was a bad knee. Now it's his back.

The Yao route? You mean letting his contract in and retire....
You do know the rumor is he will get amnestied and he is looking to be a Knick right?

I think the team didn't have to pay a percentage of his contract and the insurance paid some but it still counted against the cap....
