Cuddyer choosing Twins over Rockies?

08:10 AM ET 12.13 | Some clarity arrived in the Colorado outfield Monday, but not in the form of Michael Cuddyer. The free agent is leaning toward staying with the Minnesota Twins on a three-year deal. The Rockies are prepared to go three years, but ownership appears reluctant to extend a $30 million offer. A decision was made on Ryan Spilborghs, the team electing to non-tender the veteran outfielder, making him a free agent. ... The Rockies are attempting to add a middle-of-the-order bat. They have been aggressive in their pursuit of Cuddyer, but must exceed the Twins' $25 million bid to have a chance. "There's no update," [Dan O'Dowd] said. Outfielder Josh Willingham, who has more power than Cuddyer but less versatility, is also on the radar.

Minnesota seems like the place for Cuddyer.

I dunno. He's more of a hitter thana fielder. Denver may be a great place for him to inflate his offensive output.
However, the absence of a DH works against him.

More of a hitter than a fielder? Do you watch baseball? He's got one of the best arms in the game.

Just because he HAD a great arm, doesn't make him a great fielder. He never really had great range to begin with, and often got a late break on high line drives, and now his arm strength is declining a little. His better days are behind him and he was never that great to begin with. He's always been a middle of the road player.

willingham makes more sense for the rockies, this OF has more power in his bat plus he is likely to drive more than a 100n R.B.I.S in every season!!

cuddyer should remain as a twin, he would be just fine and don't need to learn the national league!!

Because their cheap and he won't command as much salary wise as Cuddyer would.

Huh? I havent heard any of this. I thought just by saying that he'd test the market, Cuddyer was gone. And since he hasnt re-uped with the Twins, it doesnt seem likely.
But then again, we signed a 37 yr old SS that hasnt started more than 50 games in a season. And made some questionable trades in the last few years- who knows?

I want him or Beltran in St. Louis. One of them plus Wainwright would make up for Pujols.

Not sure about that, but the Cards would certainly have some money to spend, huh?

Be nice to see Cuddyer stay in Minny...players like him seem to disappear after they leave MN and aren't as relevant anymore.
