08:03 AM ET 12.14 | That limp in Pittsburgh's step will be on full display in Week 15. The Steelers have perhaps six or seven Pro Bowl candidates and they may play without five of them in a crucial game Monday night in San Francisco. The five and their problems: James Harrison (suspension), LaMarr Woodley (hamstring), Ben Roethlisberger (high ankle sprain), Maurkice Pouncey (high ankle sprain) and Troy Polamalu (hamstring). It's not likely all will miss because Pouncey feels confident he will play and coach Mike Tomlin painted a rosier picture of Woodley, who has missed four starts and three-quarters of a game over the past five because of his lingering injury.

The Niners had one chance to beat a quality opponent, and that opponent's quality just nosedived.

Harrison has been made the posterchild for (questionable) late hits, none of which I agree with. The game of footbal is changing (for the worse), and is why baseball is taking over for alot of people. There are far less commercial (one every 2 plays in football) and there is actually more hitting in baseball. Goodell is killing football for the fans, and the (tough) players. I thought the reason football players were paid so high was because it is a violent sport, and a carreer could be over with one hit. With all the new "safety" (questionable) rules and better equipment, shouldn't their pay start to go down due to the risk being substantially minimized???? The game is leaving the old school players (players fans pay to watch) behind, by forcing them to change their game to a more subdued, controlled, less violent game...........which when the sport was great is not how it was!
P.S. Colt McCoy - if you cant take the hit, maybe you should not run like running back. Stay in the pocket and suck your thumb.

I am not buying that Ben isn't playing. He finished the game in which the injury occured and now we're to believe he won't play 10 days later. Ben is one tough SOB, he'll play!

And, if Ben plays SF has no chance to win this game.

Hopefully Roger Goodell's tenure will be a short one and then we can get back to playing football like men. In the mean time, the Steelers will continue to play football like men and Steeler Nation will support them no matter how many fines or suspensions the league throws at any Steeler player. Steeler Nation was here before Roger Goodell and it will be here long after he is gone and will rejoice for the return of football instead of what they're trying to shove down our throats now.

why do's he lead with his helmit to the QB'S head when he makes a hit why not tackle him by wrapping them up - 7 fines the last 2 yrs. is excessive, no -other players are getting called/fined like that......well there is one A boy named Suh who is trying to catch up with him.

Don't count on it, his stupidity knows no bounds. He'll say something about being a slave or some other nonsense to the media.
He just can't help himself.

I guess we should just ignore all the dirty plays.
Yeah, not letting Harrison try to end careers is so going to hurt the NFL. If Harrison doesn't like the rules, he can go work bagging groceries.
This may be the dumbest post of the day, and if it isn't, it's in the top-3. Yes, the day is young, but this kind of idiocy cannot go unrewarded.
