08:06 AM ET 12.14 | According to a report, Miami can talk to anyone it wants, but it won't be able to make a hire until the 2011 season concludes. Though firing Tony Sparano has given the Dolphins an early jump on gauging who might be interested in their coaching job, the team will not be permitted to hire a permanent coach until after the season, the league said Tuesday. ... "Once the season is concluded, the head coaching position must be considered open and the club must fill the position in accordance with the interviewing guidelines," [Greg Aiello] said. Those guidelines require that teams interview at least one minority candidate to satisfy the league's Rooney Rule.

I think you have Florida confused with Texas. They're the state that talks about secession.

Why dont they just give the job to Tucker then. That should satisfy the rule and he is a good coach anyways.

Not so sure about that. A few offensive players and they become pretty good. A lot closer to a winning football team than about 16 other teams in the NFL.

The Peoples' Republic of Massachusetts has one of those, too.

This sounds like the way Occupy Wall Street would talk about disparity in the NFL. People think we have Occupy Gillette Stadium up here, but it's really just that it's impossible to get out of the parking lot after a game.

"Those guidelines require that teams interview at least one minority candidate to satisfy the league's Rooney Rule"
So according to the US census the Fins need to interview at least 1 asian candidate.

While the rest of the country is in a recession, Texas is in a financial boom. If the governor of Texas is an idiot, we need more idiots running for office.
