I think he'd look pretty good wearing the Old English D.

Why would Oakland get rid of this kid...they still have him on the cheap for another year....next year they might start shopping him if his arbitration goes through the ceiling....

Didn't realize he was due arbitration this year coming up....your gonna have to knock Oaklands socks off with an offer...otherwise I see them keeping him .....

This guy is about to hit his prime, why would Oakland trade him? Are they always rebuilding?

Two caveats.

A's pitchers leaving the pitcher freindly confines of the Coliseum have not faired that well.

AL East teams especially should beware. Call it the John Lackey rule. Pitching in those bandboxes against those lineups do funny things to pitchers.

The Red Sox have nothing to offer other than Reddick or Kalish, maybe a Middlebrooks...but seriously, this team's farm system is awful with zero pitching prospects on the horizon..

id personally rather have danks and floyd from chicago. imagine that starting 5 plus the offense they are capable of putting on the field. sign madson to a 2-3 year deal, and keep bard as the setup man. even if one of the front 3 in that rotation gets hurt it would allow for a much better situation than they had last year. plus youd get two guys instead of one.

their farm system isnt awful, they just dont have much in the AA or AAA teams right now

I have heard Jed Lowrie's name pop up in a potential deal, but I still don't see Boston having enough to offer Oakland.

Billy Beane would like to think he is a genius. If he was so great, Oakland wouldn't have to cover up half their seats. When they had the Bash Brothers, they filled their ballpark.

Would you rather see him wear the "D" then Turner and Castellenos? Because that's just the beginning of what it would take.

......rangers are the probable destination for gio....in exchange for borbon and colby lewis.....

Amendment: Lowrie has been traded along with Kyle Weiland to the Astros for reliever Mark Melancon.

Gio looks to be pretty good. Some team will have to dazzle the A's to get him though.

gio gonzalez would be the right fit for any team, boston, tigers, rangers, phillies, jays, nationals, angels, offcourse not just anybody would be able to get him unless they give a good talented player in return!!

if somebody could get shields it could be the red sox, but do the boston team has what it takes to land a top pitcher??
