Lakers fuming over Paul trade

08:10 AM ET 12.15 | News of Chris Paul going to the crosstown Lakers and Dwight Howard going nowhere struck more than a chord of disappointment in Los Angeles. The Lakers were privately fuming Wednesday, according to a person with knowledge of their front office, when Paul, the New Orleans point guard, ended up in Los Angeles six days after the NBA vetoed the Lakers' trade for him. Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak declined to comment through a spokesman but earlier this week said the NBA's blockade was "completely unexpected." ... The Lakers were involved in trade talks with Orlando via Howard's agent for two weeks, but the price for Howard inevitably increased with Paul off the market.

Just gotta be patience here. Howard and maybe DWill might be available down the road. Magic probably will hold on to D12 until mid season. The most stupid move was Odom. That did not make any sense unless there is a plan in place.
If the new era of Jim Buss will be like that, then things might get pretty bad. lol

Can you please ship a pair of Air Jordans to Lebron James. Care of The Heat. Maybe he can then play the 4th quarter.

Think Jim is already crying to Daddy?
Oh man! Hey Dad... why won't they just let me do whatever I want? You told me the fix was in!!

Daddy is the man, if Jimmy has 10% of his tenacity, then we will be ok.
He is a drunk who got everything in his life in a silver platter from daddy. Hard to see him holding the franchise together, Jeannie the hottie seems way more capable of that, in the other hand I think Dr. Buss is smart enough to pass the torch to someone who can deliver. We will see.

D12 is a must now, but in the other Hans giving up Bynum and Gasol for him I think it's too much.
Especially now that Odom is gone.
Lakers is in a tricky spot, so the best scenario here is Dwight demanding to go to LA and the Magic trading here straight for Bynum and any other guys not named Gasol and Kobe or finally a third team in the process.

I doubt Dwight does that, if that was his desire he would've done that already, Melo made it very clear where he wanted to go.

Morning M3... a changing of the guard in the front office just might be the worst thing to happen to the Lakers.
Based on what I've read Jim is one of those acorns that fell FAR away from the tree. He isn't up to filling his dad's shoes.

They make great and bold moves but like any franchise sometimes they do make bad ones. Kwame, Sasha, Luke, trading Shaq and Odom for a bag of peanuts etc are few examples of that.

I can imagine the level of pissed the Lakers are feeling at this point. Chris Paul was in their pocket and the league removed him because none of the teams in the league want the Lakers to prosper. Now the very same player that the Lakers had acquired is now playing in their back yard; how would that make any team feel. Not only did they not get Paul but wound up losing Odom in the process because of the trade that did not go down.
At this point if your the Lakers the focus should be on making sure that this team on the same page and ready to go. Losing Odom will hurt but its a pain that you can overcome with a guy that can bang a little underneath the board and have a decent mid-range jumper. I believe the Laker will begin to enjoy Ebanks during this short season and he should welcome this opportunity and achieve the most from it. Also, the addition of McRoberts will help with a active body around the basket.
Gasol have to be in the right frame of mind due his involvement with trade talks and rumors.
