Trading with the Mets?? Most of what they have is garbage.

Rockies did what they do best..threw money at an average player whose stats are no better than the person they're trying to trade....status quo

but ... Cudyear can pitch too ...

this its soo truth, but the question its,why the rockies sign him in first place could it be because they would like to use him as a reliever? because other than that he do not have higher level in his skills nor better performs either, to me in this deal, the player won the team lose,

December 17, 2011  03:04 PM ET

set smith has the same type of level as a player except that he can't pitch, about the numbers in $$$$ this guy its very cheap, what was his contract? i think 2 millions per season, its that amount too hefty for the rockies? they could had signed willingham for the same amount that they paid to cuddyer and they would have better production in that spot !!!

December 17, 2011  03:15 PM ET

sometimes the teams or the GM'S screw big time in terms of contracts or deals, example, the twins won the lottery with willingham deal= 21 millions 3 years, the rockies =31 millions 3 years deal, the rockies lose in this deal, the angels did the worse deal in years, i mean to sign pujols to a 10 years deal, not only the amount of money invested in this player was out of order, but the lengh of years its the worse part of this long term deal, in this deal the halos were the biggest losers, the angels would be very lucky if just if pujols can give them at least five years of production, because honestly he don't have any protection in the lineup, to my knowledge he will be walking about 90% in the american league unless the team gets a tough hitter behind him!!

Cuddyer can at least bring some needed stability to this team. Although his numbers won't nearly be as good at Coors Field.

December 17, 2011  05:49 PM ET

Smith is a decent young player...but your gonna have to give up more than him for a young lefthanded starting pitcher...This won't happen unless the Rockies sweeten the pot....otherwise the Mets would be content to keep Niese in the rotation....

Hey, if it means that Smith hits I-70 out of town, it's fine by me.

Jurrjens has the highest upside of any of those guys, but also the biggest risk. Still, if I am Colorado, that is probably who I target for Smith. The Braves badly need a good hitting OF, and if Atlanta is willing to give up Jurrjens for him, so be it. OFs are usually not that hard to come by.

i would like to see the angels bring in prado and insert him right at the lineup leadoff spot~~~

Jurrjens

jurrjens could be a right fit for the halos, and if the braves would like to send prado along the halos could get two players for the prize of one, now the problem would be who could the angels send in the trade? a top pitcher or a top hitter?
