The Falcons' search for a general manager and head coach continued Thursday, and several new names have surfaced as candidates to be interviewed. The Philadelphia Inquirer, citing an unidentified team individual, is reporting that Tom Heckert, the Eagles' general manager, will interview with the Falcons. According to the report, Heckert, 40, will fly to Atlanta on Sunday and interview with team owner Arthur Blank on Monday. On Thursday, the Falcons were to interview Indianapolis assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell for the vacant head coach position. Green Bay director of pro personnel Reggie McKenzie interviewed for the Falcons' GM position Wednesday. Next on the tour is a trip to Dallas to interview offensive assistants Tony Sparano and Jason Garrett Friday.

Keep your hands off Heckert Blankie. He's the only balancing force on the Eagles front office staff.

Everyone else bows and scrapes to Emporer Andy and his new clothes.

Great idea Loki except for 2 things:

1) The CFL and NFL are not affiliated like that, yet.

2) The CFL would most likely wipe the floor with teams like the Dolphins.

if the falcons hire a coach before they hire a GM it will be a sure sign to any future GM candidate that they will forever be meddling in his job. going back to what Loki said, the way to entice a guy is to offer to let HIM formulate the plan and acquire the players. it isnt working now, so whaddaya lose? otherwise, no one wants his boss, or bosses if you count McKay, looking over their shoulder.

The Eagles want their Blankie!!!!

Isn't it time for Nick Saban to deny interest in the Falcons job then resign from Alabama and sign a 5 year deal with the Falcons because that's always been his dream job?

I feel sorry for anyone who takes that job. No quarterback worth a hoot and players the likes of D'Angelo Hall still worshipping a convicted felon who all but destroyed a team. Doesn't seem to be much to work with and its gonna take a long time to bring about improvements.
