Boudreau seeks spark from slumping goalies

08:28 AM ET 12.20 | There were times in Washington where goaltending seemed to be Bruce Boudreau's most pressing issue, and the new Anaheim coach is again turning to his crease. Goalies have the capacity to change a game and cover up for their teammates' mistakes, but the Ducks' Jonas Hiller and Dan Ellis have been unable to and provide such a lift to break the team's two-month slide. ... [Boudreau] said that it sometimes takes a goalie to be the one who snaps a team out of its funk. It didn't happen in the Ducks' 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Monday night. "We need to get it maybe better than it has to be at this stage, to get us in a mode where we start feeling confident about ourselves," Boudreau said.

I guess the recent coaching shakeup hasn't produced the desired effect over at the pond.

Maybe he'll take them out to dinner and show them how he does it....then they'll really be filling up the net and no pucks will be able to squeeze by after the BB Workout Plan.

You know the world is tilting on its axis improperly when a talent laden team is missing Ray Emery

I watched some of the Ducks/Stars game last night and it was painful to watch. It looked like everyone was skating at half speed. The Flyers/Avs game had a lot more action to it.

All Bruce has to do is slap a little mayo on one of the goalies while holding a sandwich bun. Guaranteed both of 'em could stop a semi after that!

I don't get to see them enough...but is seems strange they are having so many problems...can anyone tell me if perhaps it is the team's entire 'work ethic'?
If it is, usually a coaching change helps that...initially, so what is the problem with these guys?

Work ethic? Lack of desire? Not responding to the F bombs? Hard to say.
