06:33 AM ET 12.21 | The Cubs reportedly have hired two scouts from Theo Epstein's old team, one to be a national cross-checker, although there has been no confirmation from the team. How this affects the compensation the Cubs owe the Red Sox for hiring Epstein this offseason remains to be seen, but that issue apparently has been pushed to the back burner. The Cubs now are not expected to give up any top prospects. The latest Cubs hires include Matt Dorey, who has spent the last four years as a Red Sox area scout, and Kyle Evans.

Theo is really sticking it to his former employer.

In the end at least one top prospect will be traded for him. Its only fair, Enough already

The Red Sox didn't handle this well so they'll be lucky to get anything of value but if the Cubs do nothing the next 5 years they will probably be mad that even gave up that.

I'm not even sure they'll be any true player compensation at this point.

Wanting something from the Cubs would be like going to the Salvation Army on Christmas Eve, and asking them for a donation. Just move on Boston.

The Sox have moved on, it's the media that keeps it in the news.

I sure hope so. They have enough of their own problems they need to straighten out. At least they got rid of the main source of those problems.

Theo's performance in Boston the past few years has been less than desired. Sox management may just be happy Cubs solved issue for them.

Theo left the Sox in complete turmoil. I can't believe he actually got a higher position with the Cubs.

I was starting to wonder about Theo but this guy is either really smart or just plain lucky. The Red Sox have gone from wanting Matt Garza to two top prospects to one middle prospect. Now they have said that all the Cubs have to do is not hire any more Boston employees for three years. It makes Boston look really bad if this is true that all the Cubs have to do is not hire any more Boston employees.

But if the Cubs continue to suck, even with Theo, then Boston won't look so bad after all. Will they?
