Ochocinco breaks media silence

08:24 AM ET 12.21 | Chad Ochocinco has taken his share of criticism for a lack of individual contribution. In 14 games, the six-time Pro Bowler has just 14 receptions for 261 yards and one touchdown, a 33-yarder that came in the first quarter of Sunday's win at Denver. It took 14 games, but the 33-year-old receiver finally found the end zone. It came as a bit of a surprise, then, that Ochocinco agreed to sit down with the Globe yesterday for a brief interview following practice. To that point, he hadn't answered any questions since training camp.

Does he still play Football?

Not a good sign when some unknown named Tiquan Underwood gets more looks from Brady in a game than a veteran like Ochocinco.

Isn't part of the new CBA that players HAVE to talk to the media?

I believe that the Patriots have avoided going to Chad for a very good reason. Everybody knows they would make the play-offs. By not utilizing him for most of the season in the fashion that has been "normal" in the past, teams are not looking to cover him as much as they do the other primary receivers, Welker, Hernandez, Gronkowski. I think once the playoffs start, he will be much more of a factor than he has been all season. I think he will be targeted a lot more by Brady and the Patriots knowing that defenses are preparing for the other receivers and probably over looking him as if he were an afterthought . Time will tell.

(To that point, he hadn't answered any questions since training camp.)

And for that I'd like to thank him..... Now shut up already.

He is an after thought. He still looks lost running routes.

Chad talking isn't news! Chad NOT talking, now that WAS news, BUT this is the first we've heard about his silence, after he's no longer silent. :^)

This is the single worst thread in T&R history. The scoop is that he sat for an interview. That's what we learn here, besides a few stats about a formerly-decent player long past his expiry date.

There was a thread a couple of seasons ago that mentioned where Deanna Favre was doing her household shopping in Minnesota. I argue that was the worst T&R thread.

That TD route he ran didn't look like it was much more than "go deep up the sideline", which is probably why it was so successful.

Makes sense to me.
One touchdown
One interview

should be the last we hear from him this year.

Chad was the 'piece of glass' and got the ball because the guy represented by the coke bottle top wasn't open!

Hey NE thanks for taking this has-been off my hands, I am sure you will like the rewards he will give you , and the draft pick you gave us was probably twice the actual price he is worth.

Thanks and Merry Christmas
