08:15 AM ET 12.23 | Thanks to the NBA's television coverage of courtside huddles, viewers have been introduced to Stan Van Gundy's coaching persona, and it's one Dwight Howard would like to see tweaked. Howard and Van Gundy spoke for over an hour last week, and while the full details of that conversation remain unclear, they hope the talk will help change how they interact during games. Howard and co-captain Jameer Nelson want more freedom to police teammates during games, and Howard also wants Van Gundy to be less negative. ... This is not Howard's first attempt to quell what he perceives as Van Gundy's negativity, and Van Gundy has attempted to make changes before.

Howard just go to Otis and tell him you want a NEW coach or they can forget about you even thinking about coming back...

OH Lawd, Howard wants to run the team like Lebron in Cleveland. He is a gonner for sure now.

Howard will you just grow the balls already and tell Otis there is no way you are coming back so they can trade you. Enough games " I wanna stay but i dont like this." "I wanna stay but i dont like that."Be a man and leave!

Maybe he will get that put in his next contract -- "the coach is not allowed to yell anything negative at Dwight."

I agree with you 100%. Enough with the games. Just man up and tell them you are not signing an extension so they can begin planning for the future through a trade.

If the players want so much control over the game, why even both having coaches?

December 23, 2011  10:50 AM ET

Thanks to the NBA's television coverage of courtside huddles, will there be on "men's room"?

If Magic management is dumb enough to allow Howard to walk away and get nothing for him, they deserve whatever happens to them. Either get th guy some help. or suffer the consequences. It's as simple as that. The cost is nothing compared to what they'll lose if Howard walks.

Howard is gone, all signs are there. If he stays will be a waste of talent on a mediocre franchise that has proved several times cannot put a real championship product out there.

The Magic FO is worse then the Cavs! LeChoke didn't tell the Cavs hat his plans was and he continued to lead them on and even pretending that he will stay w/ the Cavs forever. The Magic knows what's going to happen and they can control their future. If Howard just leaves this summer than it's all the FO fault.

the better trade him then!
