Conflicting reports on a Cowher interview with Bolts

08:05 AM ET 12.26 | The fallout from this weekend's Chargers loss will reportedly likely begin with Norv Turner. [And while] Bill Cowher continues to say he's not interested in leaving the world of TV (even Dan Marino, in answering a question about the open Dolphins job, said he didn't think Cowher's mindset was in returning to coaching), the New York Post has reported that Cowher already interviewed in San Diego. ... That report, though, is at odds with what the San Diego Union-Tribune is writing. Reported Kevin Acee: "Two Chargers sources said unequivocally and vehemently on Saturday that the Chargers have not talked to Cowher."

I would be very surprised to see Cowher go back to coaching. He has plenty of money & a great TV gig. Who needs the hassle?

I could see New York but not San Diego. He has a home in North Carolina and a appartment in NY and I always envision Cowher as an east coast kind of guy.

He may have interviewed, but likely only as a courtesy.

The Chicago Bears owners should make Cowher their head coach and also give him authority over all personnel decisions. We haven't had a decent team since Ditka roamed the sidelines.

His ego needs massaging. I see him coaching again.

Wonder if he might consider a GM position, but it seems unlikely he will go back into coaching--that is, unless he is offered the keys to Ft. Knox.

He's not going anywhere and certainly not to the left coast with a cheap GM

Tell Urban Meyer that. He retired because his doctors said it was bad for his health, now after a years rest he skipped to Ohio St., I guess he wasn't that sick after all.

Good idea. Then send Martz to San Diego. I have visions of Martz with a lightning bolt stuck in his head.

He is interested in coaching again, otherwise his agent wouldn't be floating these rumors. There are other coaches just as qualified as Cowher that want to coach, I wonder why the press isn't using any of those coaches names. Maybe the media is floating those rumors so that Cowher will get the message and leave broadcasting.

There was an article in SI just last week wherein Cowher said he wasn't interested in coaching. Above all else I thing he is an honorable man and would not want to disseminate misleading information. And given the easy $$$ he's making at CBS, why leave that to go back to working 18 hour days for 10-11 months. He lost his wife and deserves to spend all the time he wants with his daughters.
