KG may hear from league after throat-shoving

08:10 AM ET 12.26 | Kevin Garnett had his chance to extend Sunday's Celtics-Knicks game with a buzzer-beating jumper, but instead wound up drawing iron and the courtside trash-talking of Bill Walker. Walker and Garnett jawed at each other as the other Knicks celebrated, and injured Knicks point guard Baron Davis attempted to step in to separate Walker and Garnett. That move was too little, too late, as the always feisty Garnett used his left hand to grab Walker's neck and shove him backwards. ... There's a decent chance Garnett faces some disciplinary action from the NBA league office for his action, given both the aggressiveness and the proximity to his opponent's head. Will he get fined, suspended or neither? We all wait with bated breath.

kG was always a bad loser. Of should I say classless. I saw the play. kG was clearly upset that is last second, wide open shot was not even close. Besides Rondo the celtics looked really old yesterday. Time to blow ip that team "if" they make the playoffs they are not capable of winning a playoff series.

Wow how could you say that when they lost by 1 point without pierce??

If they allowed fighting in the NBA, KG would never shove anyone again. He is a total NBA bad ****, shove someone and then start backpedaling. What a wuss.

It was a wide open shot.

It wasn't wide open walker had a hand in his face. Thats why kg chocked his **** because walker most likely said something after the play. Kg shot over him but it wasn't a wide open shot. Regardless not bad for an undermanned team.

lol so am i but evem i'm taking account that we had a great game yet we won by one and boston was undermanned. As much as it was a great opening day win still worried about our back court. Rondo is not a scorer so if he can get off on us imagine the elite scoring guards.

Nice to see KG is in mid-season form already.

I loved what Maurice Lucas once said about Kevin Garnett. He said in his day it would be easy to shut him up. He would have walked up to him and punch him in the mouth. Becasue the fine for fighting was only $500.00 and no games lost. Every team had a enforcer to deal with punk **** like Kevin Garnett.

December 26, 2011  09:57 AM ET

i love kg! If he was such a punk why has no one got in his ****. Walker needs to do better scouting reports and know you don't talk trash to garnett unless you ready. Walker wasn't ready. I've seen kg get at EVERYONE and i love it. If you don't like it play ball and get at him but no one does. Obviously he can't be that much of a punk. Trash talking and intimidation is part of his game. I personaly like it and players need to step up if they don't. Like melman said it's great to see kg in midseason form. I LOVE THIS GAME!!

How close to a choke was the shove?

New York D.A. may want to look into it since choking is now a felony in NY. LOL!
