Penn State players worried about the program

08:25 AM ET 12.26 | One of sports' most disturbing stories will certainly affect Penn State, but the degree to which is, for now, a matter of discussion. [Current] players understand the culture of the program likely will change. Waiting more than 45 days to name a new head coach hasn't helped ease the players' minds, either. They've been contacted via Facebook by recruits seeking advice, and underclassmen have asked their older teammates for opinions about staying or leaving. "That's up to them and their families," senior left tackle Quinn Barham said. ... [Barham] said he hopes a coach is named soon so players can begin to move on. "I am a little bit concerned," All-American defensive tackle Devon Still said.

BIG BIG problem for the prosecution of Sandusky. I read the transcript of Curly and Shulz preliminary hearing. And I am NOT defending Sandusky but I saw where Farrell, the defense attorney, was going with his questioning of McQuery. On cross examination MqQuery said the boy and Sandusky were standing up and Sandusky had him pinned to the wall. The boy was not bent over and was 5'2" or 5'4" tall. Sandusky, according to McQuery stands over 6'. Based on this it would be physically impossible for Sandusky to perform sodomy on this boy in the positions McQuery said they were in. He would be hitting him in the small of the back. So S's defense attorney will say it was a hug. While Disgusting this would be Sexual Deviant behavior and not rape. This is a misdemeanor. Once this lynch pin of the prosecution falls they will have a tough time proving the rest. It will be word against word and S' will admit to hugging the boys and nothing else. Again Sandusky is a scum bag but there is a problem with what McQuery says he saw and what is physically possible.

Penn State's football program will struggle for years to overcome the Sandusky legacy.
It will hurt their recruiting in the short term, and even in the long term if the school and its fans don't own up to the mistakes made and move beyond, instead of bemoaning the "unfairness: of it all.
The only possible help in a turn around would be to find a big name coach who would accept the job of trying to make the school and its football program legitimate again.
The sad part of all this is that Joe Paterno was a model of what a college football coach should be, but he stayed about 15-20 years too long, and let a situation like Sandusky take over his legacy.

Who is in charge of the coin toss? Heads (picture of Paterno) I stay, Tails ( picture of Sandusky) I go. If only there were a way we could get illegal aliens to leave CA as fast as football player/students are leaving Penn St.

They need to get a head coach in place soon.

Penn State will be mediocre at best for a couple of years but they should be able to turn it around if they get the right coach. The program generates too much money for the administrators to let it become average.

If, and it's a astronomically large IF, they were to get Chris Peterson talked into coming, it would probably break the record for a coaching contract. As a BSU fan, I'm not to concerned he will take the job, but he is exactly what they need right now. I can't imagine any name coach going to PSU without about 20 dump trucks full of large bills.

These players need to keep quiet and embrace their inner child, and hope they can get enough other people that are into that to commit to their pro-pedophile school/state, and they'll be just fine... in football.

Spoken like a true Pedophile apologist.
I'm not familiar with Pennsylvania law, and they seem so pro-pedophile, thus far, you may actually need at least 1 (or 2) eye-witnesses to convict on every count related to molestation, but in normal states, you can actually take the word of the victim, or dozens of them, and weigh their credibility vs. a dirty Penn St. coach with 20 kids saying he molested them. (like what's their motivation to lie about it?).
But a diagram of how you personally have been unable to sodomize a 10 year old in your shower because he was too short for you can't hurt, can it?

This cross examination doesn't matter!!!!!! What is this scum bag Sandusky doing taking a shower with a 12 year boy????? If this case were to go to trial, IMO, just the thought of him taking a shower with this kid would be enough to convict Sandusky!!!!

Sandusky is NOT going to escape this one, this DEVIL is going to jail.
The Jury is going to see right through their defense when not 1 but 10 more boys testify against him!

I feel really sorry for the whole institution of Penn State! They are already being punished for what this pedophile did by losing recruits and students and I am sure the NCAA wants a crack at them too!
I am not a Penn State fan but I believe the school and the program has suffered enough. The actions of the few are punishing the hopes and dreams of the many. May Jerry Sandusky rot in hell along with all those who covered up his horrific actions.
