Knicks desperate for help at the point?

08:13 AM ET 12.27 | Adding some symmetry to the news, Mark Jackson is in town. [The] Knicks' depth at point guard has become so thin that Mike D'Antoni was asked Monday if Nate Robinson is a possible solution. D'Antoni said interim general manager Glen Grunwald is looking to add a point guard now that rookie Iman Shumpert is out with a knee injury suffered against the Celtics on Sunday. ... [D'Antoni] said the Knicks will look into [bringing back Robinson], but his smile after the question seemed to indicate his disapproval. A return by Robinson seems highly unlikely, given his tumultuous relationship with D'Antoni. But a short-term solution to the Knicks' sudden lack of depth at the position could come soon.

This will be an ongoing problem, and the fact that we NEED Baron Davis should be a major concern. Recycling players past their prime does not work and I'm skeptical that a solution can be found this year.

Toney Douglas showed not a pg that can get the job done. I like Shumpert but he's showed he's more of 2 guard than a pg, Mike Bibby, really? Mike Bibby! Which leads me to B Diddy. When healthy and focused he's serviceable, but when was the last time that happened? Golden State. Since then out of shape, injuried, and lazy. So................long story short we have no pg!

Nah... I'd rather we get someone from D-League or some busted free agent on a 10 day contract and keep the roster spot opened for K-Mart. I'm not a Nate fan. He can't run a team. He's just another scoring guard and I think we can get one with size that can defend and score better than Nate. To me Nate's a showboat freak of nature. His talents are best for entertainment purposes - not for disciplined winning basketball!

U2.Not so happy shump got hurt.....But he'll be backNot sure why we allow rondo to leech out and get 47 layupsevery time we play them....

Because we have horrible point guards. Douglas is not capable of playing big minuetes. We tried with him already and he is not a starting pg.

Hey wassup everybody belated Happy Holidays. The name I keep hearing is Jeremy Lin. I have no idea who he is but supposedly he'll be a good addition to the team. They say if he clears waivers today(by 10:00 am) the warriors and Knicks are at the top of the list to land him.

Another thing to consider when evaluating the Knicks lack of back court playmakers :The Knicks , without a true point, and with Shumprt going down in the second quarter, still hung 3 didgets on a very good defensive team

Not discounting the win but the Celtics were without their best player in pierce....saying that I will say that I don't think head to head either team is much better than the other...meaning they will both prob be battling for the 3rd and 4th spots in the east....

I'll give you that Boston didn't have pierce but the knicks didn't have their eventual starting PG in davis(I know he's super unpredictable but I'm betting he has a good year with NY) and also lost two rotation players as the game went along in Jeffries and Shumpert. The best part to me about the game is that this was the type of game we would've lost to Boston last year but we hung on and won. Hey 0-8 vs Boston last year so any win against them is a good one.

Most importantly they won....and all TG has to do is man the ship until Baron comes back in another few weeks....

If baron even comes back. Rondo as we all know is NOT a scoring pg. So for him to score 30plus on us is not a good sign. Even if baron plays, he was never a defensive guard anyway. We don't need a scoring guard we need a high iq guard.

Lin was drafted by golden state if memory serves correct. He has a good upside but as of now he is not a solution to our pg problem. He's still developing.

But BDiddy can take on KG when he threatens yet another much smaller player (before running away)
